I am a San Francisco Bay Area native who grew up in Cupertino, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley. I currently live in Eugene, Oregon.
I received my Bachelors in Biological Anthropology in 2016 and received my Masters in Education in 2017, at the University of Oregon.
I love being in nature and going on hikes with my German Shepherd, Luna. My friends call me Sarah-Dactyl.
I knew I wanted to teach when I started my first job at 16 as a camp counselor. I ran both science and nature camps for four summers for kids 5 through 12 years old.
Most of my student teaching experience was in a first grade classroom. I have also taught in second, third and fifth grade. For two years I was an after school program director so I have experience working with students from every elementary grade. One summer I even ran a preschool summer camp for 4 and 5 year olds.
If you are reading this you are likely entering my class, welcome!
Something you should know about being in my class: I believe in creating a positive learning environment that is inclusive and serves all my learners needs. I am here to help you fall in love with learning and guide you to become the best version of you that you can be.
I look forward to getting to know each and every one of my students and their families as we embark on our school journey together!
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. I welcome and encourage an open dialogue between home and school, as I believe that working together to build strong connections is imperative to student success!
